Who was in The Beatles?
John Lennon was born on the 9th of October 1940 in Liverpool, England. His parents were Alfred Lennon and Julia Stanley, he was brought up by his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George. Paul McCartney was born on the 18th of June 1942 in Liverpool, England. His parents were Jim and Mary McCartney, he has a brother called Mike and has been married to three different women. These were Linda Eastman, Heather Mills and his current wife Nancy Shevell. Paul has five children including Heather, Mary, Stella, James and Beatrice. McCartney is one of popular music’s most famous artists, he’s won 18 Grammy awards and has written 32 songs which have reached number one on the US billboard hot 100.
George Harrison was born on the 25th of February 1943 in Liverpool, England. His parents were Louise and Harold Harrison and he had three siblings, one sister and two brothers. His father was a bus conductor and had worked as a ship steward for White Star Line. While in the group, George Harrison wrote iconic songs such as Taxman, Within You Without You, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes the Sun and Something. As a solo artist he had a successful career writing the triple album All Things Must Pass and the commercial hit My Sweet Lord among many others. He sadly died on the 29th of November 2001.
Ringo Starr was born on the 7th of July 1940 and is officially known as Sir Richard Starkey. He was born in the Dingle area of Liverpool to Richard Starkey and Elsie Gleave, he was an only child. Ringo is one of the world’s most famous drummers, he sang lead vocals on a couple of Beatles records including With a Little Help from My Friends, Yellow Submarine, Good Night, Octopus’s Garden and others. After the Beatles broke up, Ringo has had a very successful solo career, his group Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band are a popular act across the world. Notable hit songs he’s sung include It Don’t Come Easy, Photograph and You’re Sixteen.
